A Toy for a Goddess
In a grand castle far beyond the mortal realm, there lived a goddess who enjoyed toying with the lives of her subjects. She was known for her immense beauty, intellect, and playful nature. One day, as she wandered through her hallowed halls, she stumbled upon an object that sparked an idea in her mind.
It was a small, wooden figure of a knight—roughly the size of a doll. The figure was intricately carved and painted to look exactly like a human knight, right down to the textured armor and detailed sword.
The goddess picked up the figure, examining it curiously. She had never seen anything quite like it before. Suddenly, an idea formed in her mind: what if she made this little figure into something much bigger?
With a wave of her hand, the goddess cast a powerful spell upon the wooden figure. The figure began to grow, expanding rapidly in size until it towered over the goddess herself. It was now the size of a full-grown man, although it still retained its wooden form.
The goddess stared at her new creation in awe. It was perfect—not only was it large enough to be seen by everyone, but it also retained the same details as the original figure. She decided to name her new creation ‘Sir Smallwood’.
Over time, Sir Smallwood became a beloved fixture in the castle. He was often seen accompanying the goddess on her walks, standing guard outside her chambers, or simply resting in the gardens. The people of the castle grew to admire him, seeing him as a symbol of their goddess’s love and protection.
One day, a group of rebels from a neighboring kingdom snuck into the castle, intent on kidnapping the goddess and overthrowing her rule. They managed to infiltrate her chambers while she was asleep, and grabbed Sir Smallwood instead, thinking him to be a valuable artifact.
As they fled the castle with their ‘prize’, they had no idea that they were in for quite the shock. When the goddess awoke and noticed that Sir Smallwood was missing, she grew angry. With a wave of her hand, she cast a powerful curse upon the rebels and their kingdom.
The curse caused the rebels to shrink to the size of ants, while their entire kingdom shrank to the size of a doll. The goddess then placed the tiny kingdom on a shelf in her study, using it as a reminder of the consequences of disobedience and rebellion.
In the end, Sir Smallwood remained a beloved figure in the castle, cherished by both the goddess and her subjects. His story became a legend, telling of the power of love and protection, as well as the wrath of those who would dare cross their goddess.
