In the ancient land of Themyscira, a mighty decree was announced by Queen Hippolyta. She stood tall atop the highest peak in Olympus, her mighty form towering over the clouds. At first, the people were astounded. They watched in awe as women began to grow taller, their bodies stretching towards the heavens. Some grew to tower over buildings, while others remained modestly sized. But all were empowered by the queen’s decree. They used their newfound strength to build kingdoms, to defend themselves from invaders, and to create wonders never before seen.
One such wonder was the city of Thebes. Under the guidance of their giant queen, Antiope, the people of Thebes constructed a mighty fortress that stood tall against any invader. Its walls were made of granite blocks, each weighing more than a dozen men. Its towers reached into the clouds, and its battlements bristled with deadly weapons. It was said that no army could breach the walls of Thebes, for its queen was a force to be reckoned with.
Another wonder was the floating island of Athens. Led by their giant queen, Penthesilea, the people of Athens constructed a floating city that soared above the ground. Its towers were made of gold and diamond, and its walls were reinforced with enchanted crystals. The island was powered by magical energies, harnessed from the ley lines that ran beneath the earth. It was said that the island of Athens was impervious to attack, for its queen was a master of magic.
As news of these marvels spread throughout the land, more women began to grow. They used their newfound power to shape the world around them, creating wonders that would last for generations. And so it was that the ancient land of Themyscira became a haven for women, a place where they could grow to be anything they wanted to be. A place where they could rule with an iron fist, or create beauty with a gentle touch. A place where they were truly free.
