I just want to help you get out of this mess and maybe even change your life for the better.” The little girl hesitated, her eyes darting around before finally meeting Vanati’s gaze. “What do you want from me?” she asked, her voice trembling.
Vanati smiled softly, knowing that she had made a connection with the girl. “I want to give you a chance to turn your life around,” she said, releasing the girl’s wrist. “You seem like you’re full of fire, just like me. I want to help you channel that energy into something positive.” The little girl thought for a moment, her crimson locks bouncing with each indecisive nod of her head. Finally, she looked up at Vanati, determination shining in her eyes. “Alright,” she said, “you have a deal. But I’m warning you, I’m not easy to handle.” Vanati laughed, feeling a surge of excitement course through her veins. “I know,” she replied, “and that’s part of the fun.”
