The sun slowly began to set, casting long shadows across the sprawling campus of the prestigious Xavier University. In one of the many secret labs hidden beneath the surface, a young woman named Saori sat on a stool, her back to the door. She was wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of black shorts, which barely contained her ample curves. Her long, silky black hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, revealing the delicate nape of her neck.
Saori hardly noticed the soft footsteps approaching from behind. She was lost in thought, trying to figure out how she was going to convince the head of the university’s research department to fund her latest project. It was a groundbreaking experiment that involved genetically modifying plants to interact with human DNA, but she needed more resources if she was going to make it a reality.
Suddenly, a warm hand landed on her shoulder, startling her out of her reverie. She turned to find Professor Xavier standing behind her, his usual stern expression softened by a twinkle in his eye. “I must say, Miss Yukimura,” he began, his voice deep and resonant, “I’ve never seen you so determined before.”
Saori blushed and looked down at her hands, which were fidgeting nervously in her lap. “P-Professor Xavier,” she stammered, “I believe in this project. I think it could change the world.”
The professor studied her for a moment, then nodded. “I see,” he said, his voice revealing a note of approval. “Well, Miss Yukimura, I have some news for you. I’ve decided to support your project after all. But,” he added, raising an eyebrow, “there are a few conditions.”
Saori’s heart leapt into her throat. “W-What conditions?” she managed to squeak out. She braced herself for the worst: more funding, maybe access to some new technology, but nothing that would make or break the project.
“The first condition is this,” Professor Xavier said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small vial filled with a clear, viscous liquid. “This is a highly concentrated serum derived from a rare species of Amazonian flower. It has been shown to accelerate cell growth and regeneration at an unprecedented rate.”
Saori’s eyes widened in surprise. “W-What do you want me to do with it?” she asked, reaching out to touch the vial hesitatingly.
“The serum is safe for human ingestion,” Professor Xavier explained, handing her the vial. “I want you to take it. Swallow it down, and see what happens.”
Saori held the vial in her trembling hands, feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension course through her veins. She took a deep breath, uncapped the vial, and tipped it back, swallowing the contents in one gulp.
As she handed the vial back to Professor Xavier, she felt an unusual sensation spreading through her body. It was like nothing she’d ever experienced before: a warm, tingling feeling that started in her stomach and radiated outwards, making her skin tingle and her heart race. She looked up at the professor, her eyes wide with amazement.
“Well, Miss Yukimura?” Professor Xavier asked, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. “Do you feel anything… different?”
