In the heart of a bustling city, Nina walked along the crowded sidewalk, her heels clicking against the concrete. She was on her way to meet up with an old friend from high school, someone she hadn’t seen in years. As she neared the coffee shop where they’d agreed to meet, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over her.

The familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as she stepped inside, her eyes scanning the busy cafe for any sign of her friend. She spotted him sitting alone at a table near the back, his head buried in a laptop. She smiled to herself, remembering how much he loved his computer.

“Hey there, stranger!” she called out as she made her way towards him, feeling a rush of excitement at the prospect of reconnecting with someone from her past.

He looked up, his eyes widening in surprise as he recognized her. “Nina? Wow, it’s been forever!” he exclaimed, rising from his seat to give her a hug.

“Too long,” she agreed, returning his embrace warmly. They sat down together, catching up on old times and reminiscing about their shared experiences from high school.

As they chatted away, Nina couldn’t help but notice how much he’d grown since they’d last seen each other. He was taller now, broader shouldered, his voice deeper. It was almost as if he’d grown into his own person. She felt a pang of envy, wishing she could say the same for herself.

Their conversation drifted towards their current lives, and Nina found herself telling him about her recent promotion at work. He listened intently, offering words of encouragement and congratulations. As she spoke, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride welling up inside her.

Before she knew it, several hours had passed, and the coffee shop was beginning to empty out. They lingered for a while longer, reluctant to say goodbye just yet. Finally, with reluctance, they stood up, exchanging contact information and promising to keep in touch.

As Nina walked back to her apartment, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment. Despite the years that had passed since they’d last seen each other, their friendship had remained strong. It was a rare and precious thing, and she was grateful for it.

As she unlocked her front door and stepped inside, she noticed something peculiar. Her living room seemed… bigger. Bigger than she remembered. It was as if the furniture had been moved back, creating more space. She shook her head, chalking it up to fatigue and the long day she’d had.

Later that night, as she lay in bed, she couldn’t help but think about her old friend. She wondered how he was doing, what he was up to now. And then, suddenly, she remembered the way he’d grown. His height, his voice, the way he’d filled out. A shiver ran down her spine, and she found herself imagining what else might have changed.

In the darkened room, her mind began to wander, conjuring up fantasies of her childhood friend grown into a giant, towering over her. She felt a rush of excitement, mixed with a hint of fear. It was an intoxicating thought, one she couldn’t seem to shake. And as she drifted off to sleep, she found herself dreaming of a reunion unlike any other.
